1. Tesla Model S

And of course, Elon Musk doesn’t regularly drive one of Tesla’s flagship vehicles, such as the Tesla Model S, without it being weird. At the time of its launch, this luxury electric sedan was a real game changer with long range, high speed and advanced autonomous driving included. Musk usually spoke about the Model S being one of his favourite cars, and was often seen behind the wheel of one. Finally, the Tesla Model S Plaid is famous for being the high performance version of the car, which will race to 0 – 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds and so it is one of world’s fastest production cars. Musk has gushed about the Model S car’s speed and cool features; when he hops in his car, it’s clear this is his ticket.

2. Tesla Cybertruck

Perhaps most famously, Musk has been seen tooling around town behind the wheel of the prototype of one of his most ambitious vehicle designs, the Tesla Cybertruck, which the world still has yet to see. The Cybertruck is going to be a game changer in EV world when it makes it to market, a bold, angular design made out of ultra hard stainless steel. Since then, Musk has been spotted driving the Cybertruck around California, including a well publicized trip to a Nobu restaurant in Malibu. Because Musk created the Cybertruck as a set of wheels, it is also a forward thinker for the vehicle itself, filling the bulletproof exoskeleton, extreme durability and substantial towing capacity. The electric car manufacturer Tesla’s fans are eagerly waiting for the launch of the fully made version of this car, and it seems that Musk early adoption of this prototype is based on trust.

3. Tesla Roadster

The place that Elon Musk’s heart holds for the Tesla Roadster is particularly lovely, seeing as it was Tesla’s first production car, and helped put it on the map. Tesla’s original Roadster was an all electric sport car made from a Lotus Elise chassis that proved to Tesla that you could achieve performance in an automobile completely devoid of internal combustion. Musk has owned and driven the first Tesla Roadster, and in 2018 turned around and threw one into space on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket as a publicity stunt. The mannequin in the driver’s seat is Starman, which is why the Roadster in space is so famous. Musk was an integral part of both the creation of the original Roadster and the next generation Tesla Roadster that’s on track to be the fastest car in the world. It’s also one of the most hotly anticipated EVs of the future: New Roadster promises insane acceleration – as fast as 2.8 seconds to 96 km/h – top speed in excess of 400 km/h, and greater than 1,000 km of range.

4. McLaren F1

These days, Elon Musk is most known for electric vehicles, but no one ever thought he loved anything but fast cars. Musk’s most famous car of note was a McLaren F1; an extraordinary piece of creative engineering and generally held to be one of the world’s greatest sports cars ever built. Another extremely fast production car in its day was McLaren F1, but this one stood out with a top speed of 386 km/h. Musk bought the McLaren F1 just after he had sold his first company, Zip2, for nearly $300 million. But unfortunately, while driving it with his fellow entrepreneur Peter Thiel some time in 2000, he crashed it, it totaled, and he started over again. Musk, in the meantime, came away unscathed, the McLaren F1 was sent to the unwinning post, and Musk declined to repair it.

5. Porsche 911 Turbo

It’s not just electric vehicles if Elon Musk loves high performance cars. He, like many engineers of his generation, owned a Porsche 911 Turbo (another famous sports car) in the early stages of his career as it was regarded the engineers’ car – for the engineering and the speed. Good handling, acceleration and design timeless: Whoever directs celebratory sighs at the Porsche 911 Turbo has had plenty of reason for doing so. “But after mastering cars that burned gasoline rather than electrons, Musk has moved on to electric cars, though early indications of his love of fast, high performance vehicles is seen in the Porsche 911 Turbo.”

6. Audi Q7

As Tesla was preparing to send its popular Model X SUV out on its way, Elon Musk was driving an Audi Q7. The Q7, the luxury SUV, is very spacious inside and you can have a smooth driving. But Musk has been quite forthcoming about how he took the Q7 and made it his Tesla Model X. Musk loved how big and useful it was, as with the Audi Q7, but didn’t feel it was easy enough to get to, and how it didn’t particularly have a good interior design to fold the third row seats. He then went about designing the Tesla Model X, with features like the Falcon Wing doors and increased interior space with an aim to make this frustration easier to take advantage of by allowing the rear seats to easier fit into it.

7. Ford Model T

The final car on our list of What cars does Elon Musk drive is the Ford Model T. The Ford Model T is the most surprising car in Elon Musk’s garland is a Ford Model T Friday gift from a friend. However, when we refer to the first car to revolutionize the automotive industry, the Iconic car, Model T was most times thought to have paved way to the first affordable automobile. Musk is famous as a technology pushing forward but he owns a Model T – his appreciation of automotive high technology history and of evolution.
