Elon Musk and Tesla: Rendering New Direction to the Concept of Driving

If you’re thinking of change-makers and innovative minds only one name comes to mind – Elon Musk. Musk is the co founder and CEO of the electric car manufacturing agency that goes by the name of Tesla and he has been in the vanguard in transforming the automotive sector by coming up with electric cars that are becoming cheaper and cheap everyday and efficient in the use of sustainable and efficient energy. Not only does Elon Musk make Teslas, he also founded Starlink, Paypal, Neuralink and Twitter (X).

Formed in 2003, Tesla has set a bar for itself that it wanted to build electric cars better than the gasoline cars. The model Roadster, and Model S made by Tesla defined high performance of electric cars on par or superior to traditional internal combustion engine cars. This went a long way into discouraging myths put forward by rivals and some prospective car buyers to give the idea that electric cars were boring and unsuitable for everyday use.

However, Musk’s goals were much higher than creating sports cars for the richest people. His dream was a cheap, EVs for the masses kind of electric vehicles that could directly and effectively challenge the ICE cars. A major move toward this goal ramped up in 2017 with the release of Model 3 – Tesla’s second mid-range, mass-market car. The Model 3 opened the floodgates for electric vehicles, with record advance orders and with production being ramped up, too.

Sustaining such an inclination, Musk is still extending such influence to date. But the hottest new model from Tesla is the Cybertruck, an angular stainless-steel bodied electric pickup truck that took everyone by surprise and stirred everyone’s imagination when Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk unveiled it. The Cybertruck also serves to exhibit that, the company is more focused on pushing forward with more ideas and more technologies instead of merely copying foreign competitors.

Not only vehicles, Tesla has been actively developing charging infrastructure of electric vehicles. It has Supercharger stations consisting of more than 25k rapid charging points to allow longer legs for EV vacations. Once again Musk is starting to consider the next steps of mass market EV penetration and a wide acceptance of electric vehicles.

Tesla in a nutshell can be explained by Musk’s view that changing the world towards sustainable energy is a must. As a clean energy company all its cars have zero emission with improved performance and lower cost of ownership than conventional car. As battery prices remain depressed Tesla is leading the charge to transition to sustainable energy for transport.

However, Tesla is still only one percent of the total number of vehicles in use today. The company undoubtedly has spurred the sensation and demand for electric vehicles in the global market. Ever single big car manufacturer is now scrambling to create new new EV models since everybody realize this is where the auto industry is heading.

Further in the future, Musk plans on growing Tesla product portfolio to include almost all forms of ground transport. Not only does it deal in cars but it also considers sorting and delivery vehicles, commercial trucks, and utility vehicles, and even public transport. The firm also remains keen on research and development expenditure in the self-driving systems and hardware in a bid to one day have fully self-driving automobiles.

All the same, few have a doubt that Tesla under Musk’s stewardship makes things happen that few ever thought was possible over the last one decade. He has shown that electric vehicles could indeed bring about a Reinvention of actually driving as it is known. And for coastal areas like ours that are experiencing the effects of climate change and rising sea levels, the shift from fossil fueled transportation couldn’t be sooner.

So as we are still seeing some doubts regarding Tesla and there is definitely no shortage of criticism to Elon Musk himself, the company continues to prove the doubters wrong by meeting all announced goals. It has illustrated to the old school auto makers that the future is electric. And I am sure our coastal region is ready for it today through vehicles like Tesla introducing cars that seek to improve the transportation system, as well as our lifestyle for that matter and the environment as well.
