Transitioning to electrification is a top priority for Volvo and it’s very committed to being a purely electric car brand. As part of a global strategy for sustainability and environmentally friendly mobility, the giant Swedish vehicle maker, Volvo, already has a range of fully electric vehicles (EVs), and several plug-in hybrids, available in Australia. Volvo currently wants to have 50 percent of its global sales to be fully electric by 2025 and be a fully electric car company by 2030.
Volvo offers the Volvo XC40 Recharge, a fully electric compact SUV to Australians at once luxurious and sustainable. Powering the XC40 Recharge is a 78 kWh battery giving up to 418 kilometers of range when tested in the WLTP cycle (or figures of 207 miles in the EPA city cycle) as well as fast charging that can get you to 80 percent charge in around 40 minutes using a DC fast charger. Between the offered zero emissions, and Volvo’s safety, the XC40 Recharge offers the safety and comfort you expect, and all of the benefits of driving in a world free of emissions.
Volvo has also rolled out the Volvo C40 Recharge, an all electric SUV coupe. It has many of the same features of the XC40, but is sleeker and more aerodynamic in design. Available with Volvo’s best safety technology, intuitive infotainment systems, and plush interiors, these are great choices for eco-conscious performance luxury drivers who don’t have to sacrifice either.
Alongside its fully electric range, Volvo also has plug in hybrid versions, such as the XC60 Recharge and the XC90 Recharge, which provides drivers with the option to experience the joys of driving electrically, but with the extra range of a traditional petrol engine.
Volvo’s electrification strategy has been marked by big ambitions in reducing carbon emissions through sustainability commitments. Volvo says it hopes to be making only fully electric vehicles by 2030, one of the first luxury automakers to set such a target.

As the demand for sustainable high performance luxury cars grows, so too does Rolls-Royce's move to electrification without sacrificing any of the quality of prestige or comfort that the brand is known for.
Despite not yet in production, Rolls Royce assures that its Spectre, should it materialise, will be the fusion of cutting edge EV tech styling and the craftmanship, meticulous attention to detail and personalisation options for which the brand is legendary.
